With You Every Step: From Bump to Baby and Beyond.

Hi, I'm Henna.
I'm a trained doula and breastfeeding specialist based in Helsinki. I have a background in economics, and I'm originally from Saarijärvi in Central Finland. I share my life with my grounding partner, our two lively kids, and our cats Lumi and Pippuri.
I'm someone who gets excited easily, the type who makes things happen and boldly expresses her thoughts out loud. According to my partner, I'm sometimes too empathetic, wanting to give a home to every rescue animal and carrying the weight of the world's worries—wars and the climate crisis—on my shoulders.
I'm also ignited by delicious vegan food, long and peaceful breakfasts, and gentle head massages. To help me unwind and ground myself, I turn to the forest and cold-water swims in natural waters. My love language is food and cooking, which has been one of the biggest influences in my journey to becoming a doula.
How did I become a doula?
In 2019, my single-mom friend gave birth to her third child, and I had the honor of visiting the family when the baby was only a couple of weeks old. After a bit of thought, I realized that the best thing I could bring them was my time and food. While my friend was breastfeeding her baby, I made a big pot of lentil soup with her older kids and prepared a soy mince bolognese to keep in the fridge for the days ahead. I brewed us some coffee and set out a bar of dark chocolate on the table. Her middle child, now 9 years old, still fondly remembers that visit and the food we made together. My friend shared how much energy and warmth the visit brought her and her whole family in the weeks that followed.
That was when the spark to become a doula was lit within me.
The flame grew when, three years later in 2021, my partner and I hired a doula for the birth of our first child. Honestly, I don't know who or where I'd be if my path hadn't crossed with our doula's. When our firstborn was 1.5 years old, I applied to join the pilot group of the Doulannuput training program and was accepted. The same week that the training began, we found out we were expecting our youngest, and by the time our youngest was about six months old, I had qualified as a doula.
I became a doula so that our paths could meet.
As a doula, the most important thing to me is you. Your wishes and your will.
My values
Equality
Everyone is equally valuable. I want to be a safer doula for all kinds of expectant parents, and I strive to create safer spaces around birth and birthing culture. I make no assumptions about you or your family—you are free to share as much or as little as you wish. I do not tolerate any form of discrimination on my channels or at any events I host.
Ecology
The products I use are always vegan and cruelty-free. I strive to choose pre-owned items over new ones whenever possible. I also take good care of my belongings to extend their lifespan as much as I can. For transportation, I aim to choose the most eco-friendly option that fits my schedule.
Responsibility
I want the products and services I choose to be responsibly produced, considering not only the environment but also the people involved. For me, responsibility also means honoring commitments. Transparency is important to me as well, and I aim to publish a small annual responsibility report. I also plan to donate a portion of any profits to charity.
Whether your wish is a planned C-section, a vaginal birth in the hospital, or an intimate home birth, I am here to support you—and, if present, your partner. I will do everything I can to ensure you have the best possible birth experience and a gentle start to this new chapter in your life.

It was truly reassuring to communicate with you during my pregnancy, as everything was new for me as a first-time mom. You were just a phone call away, always ready to help or listen. You helped me through many small and big concerns, shared information, and provided encouragement. I found your support as a doula to be more beneficial than what I received from the maternity clinic.
Iina
Henna is approachable and knowledgeable. In breastfeeding support, my personal goals for breastfeeding were taken into account. The meeting was relaxed and unrushed.
